We’re currently in Turkey and, as usual, have decided to rent a car. In Turkey, we picked up our car for this trip. Fiat is the brand. It’s a nearly new car. It has a mileage of roughly 25000 kilometers.

You only need your driver’s license, your passport, and your credit card. Because you are required to pay the deposit.

Of course, there are some bad roads in Turkey; for example, we were in Ral and the road quality in the hamlet was poor, but it was OK. But, while the road here is fine, drivers in big cities will overtake you at fast speeds or create unsafe circumstances. Yet in small cities, everything is good.

How to choose type of car hire insurance
Guys, we’d like to discuss the problem with car rental insurance.
This is one of the most important considerations when renting a car, and rental firms offer four forms of insurance. TPL is the first one. This is the simplest, and we do not recommend renting a car with only this type of insurance.
The second level of insurance This is CDW for example, we took the car with CDW insurance, but please be aware that CDW insurance does not cover damage to wheels and windows. If you want to protect your car from those damages, such as screen and wheels, you should rent a car with super DCDW insurance, and if you do not want to think about any damages and any problems with your car, you should rent a car with full coverage. This will help you forget about everything and just enjoy your trip.
You should also be aware that CDW insurance and super CDW insurance require a deposit. The amount of the deposit depends on the type of car and the rental business. For example, we paid a deposit of 350 euros, but the deposit might be considerably higher, such as 600 euros, if you have full coverage insurance.
Please do not be frightened to pay a deposit; we have done so numerous times and have always received our money back.
Fines and penalties
Guys, we’d also like to speak about the speed limit in Turkey. In Turkey, you should add 10% to the permissible speed, therefore if the allowed speed is 70 km/h, you can go 77 km/h. The formula is not difficult to follow, but it is better to do so to prevent excessive fines from the rental business, because the police will transmit all fines collected throughout your journey to your rental company.
I believe you should be aware of the significant fines for improper parking, which is why it is preferable to park your car in designated parking spaces and to obey road signs.
Important facts concerning Turkish drivers’ driving styles. The driving style is really frantic, and you can observe it especially in big cities. We encourage you to forget about the rules of your home country and just go with the flow here. In such case, it will be really safe for you because, for instance, if you want to give away to some pedestrians, please check whether there is a car behind you because Turkish drivers tend to talk on their phones while driving, which can create a dangerous situation on the road.

It all depends on you, your budget, and how many people will be traveling with you, but in Turkey, the majority of car rentals will be from Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, and Citroen because these brands are the most well-known. VW, Volvo, Mercedes, and other brands are also available for rent. But, the rental fee would be substantially more if you choose a car for your journey. You can verify the actual automobile’s manufacturing date, or you can choose a timeframe, such as 2017 to 2019, and you’ll receive the car you desire.

We were stopped by police again on our way to Pamukkale, which was a confusing scenario because the officers couldn’t communicate English to us and just examined our documents and told us to leave.
Another advantage of renting a car in Turkey is that you can design your own round trip road. For instance, we leased a car for nine days and traveled to other locations. For example, from Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir, among other places. There are numerous wonderful round trip routes in Turkey, and each time is a different road. You can return here multiple times because of this. Also, on the way to Pamukkale, there was an exciting time when we passed through a mountain pass and it was almost night, dark, and we were quite anxious because we didn’t have a chain for the wheels cheerfully. Everything seemed fine, and the road was clean and secure, but we were apprehensive because the mountain’s maximum height was 1600 meters above sea level.
In any case, it was an exhilarating occasion that we will never forget.
How to return car
Guys, we concluded our car rental period and are now free.
So we returned our car a little sooner than expected because our contract required us to do so tomorrow at 10 a.m., but we decided to do it today because we needed to work and we wanted to sleep comfortably without being concerned, and so on.

The car return process was straightforward, but the manager of the car rental company had some questions regarding the fuel level. Fortunately, we had video with us, and we were able to demonstrate that we had returned the car with the same level of fuel.
